Tnuat tarbut is A national initiative of artists, cultural leaders, and educators, working to strengthen cultural and social life in Israel’s periphery. The organization leads long-term, in-depth processes aimed at creating meaningful change in urban and social spaces, using culture as a driving force for growth, connection, and hope.The movement operates under the belief that culture is not a luxury, but a basic right and a key tool for community, educational, and economic development. Its activities focus on making art, creativity, and cultural life accessible to areas that need it most geographically and socially peripheral cities, disadvantaged neighborhoods, and communities with limited access to cultural resources.Over more than 15 years of activity, the Tarbut Movement has led and established dozens of projects on the ground-community cultural centers, festivals and public events, educational programs for youth, training for local artists, and urban renewal initiatives through public art. Its work is ongoing, based on continuous engagement with communities, building local partnerships, and empowering local cultural leadership.The movement’s impact is felt not only culturally, but also socially. strengthening a sense of belonging, creating vibrant public spaces, developing a local economy around culture and tourism, and reducing social gaps through education, creativity, and collaboration.
